Happy Ace Week!

Ace Week is celebrated the last week of October, with the goal of raising awareness and supporting those who are asexual/ace.

Asexuality is defined as a low/lack of interest in sexual activity or lack of sexual attraction. There are also individuals who may not fit this exact definition, but still fall under the “ace umbrella”, which can include identities such as Demisexual, Gray-Ace, or Queer Platonic.

Did you know that a significant portion of Autistic people identify as “non-heterosexual”? A study reported that 69.7% of a sample group of Autistic people identify as non-heterosexual (homosexuality, bisexuality, and asexual). Autistic people are more likely to be asexual/aromantic than neurotypicals!

Asexuality is not a choice but an important part of one’s identity like any other sexuality. Additionally, asexuals still seek emotional connection and friendship, and many asexual people are in romantic relationships!

Happy Ace Week to all of our Ace Autistic members!
