Coat Drive

Lets help keep our fellow New Yorkers warm this winter! We’re accepting donations of your new and gently used coats during 3 of our events this November.

A significant number of us in the disabled and Autistic community are facing poverty and homelessness, and will be heavily affected by the winter months this year. The coats we collect will be distributed to local organizations that serve people facing economic hardship, focusing on organizations that serve disabled individuals.

To donate, simply gather any new or gently worn coats (no holes, no stains), wash them, and bring them to one of the 3 events listed below. All ages/sizes welcome. If you are not attending one of the 3 events listed but would like to donate a coat, please stop by and drop your coat off during one of the event times below! The collection box will be near the door.

All members who bring a coat will receive a free AANYC sticker! :)

Nicole Russell

Nicole Russell is the President and Executive Director of Autistic Adults NYC. She currently lives in Brooklyn, NY, and was diagnosed as Autistic in August 2021, midway through pursuing her Master’s at New York University. After a long journey of adjusting to city life, a new diagnosis, and struggling to find community, she founded Autistic Adults NYC. Since starting the organization, she has continued to enjoy facilitating events and compiling resources for the community, along with director duties.
