Healthcare & Medical Resources
Autism is a whole body condition and a difference in how one experiences the world and themselves. Many Autistics struggle with co-occuring physical health issues and medical conditions. Despite the range of medical conditions that are relevant for Autistic folx, accessing care can be difficult. Healthcare settings and clinicians are often not autism informed or inclusive in their approach, leaving autistics at a loss in obtaining the care and treatment they need.
We recognize the importance of getting appropriate and supportive medical care. The following list includes medical clinics and healthcare providers that are either specifically autism affirming and/or more broadly practice with an inclusive approach. Many of these have been recommended by members of our community, but we recognize everyone has different experiences and needs with regard to healthcare settings and providers. We do not endorse any of these sites, please check them out and decide whether or not they might be useful to you!
