Autistic Pride Day 2023

Autistic Adults NYC at Autistic Pride Day 2023

Thank you to everyone who came out to our 2023 Autistic Pride Day Celebration! It was such a great experience to hear from so many Autistic voices and see all the creativity within our community. Thank you to the donors who contributed and allowed us to put together such a meaningful event. And thank you to all the speakers, musicians, artists, and volunteers that helped put everything together!

Below are photos from the celebration, credit to JP Gomez, and a video including many of the speeches and poetry readings from the event.

Sy'Aire Russell

Sy’Aire currently lives in Brooklyn, NY, and was diagnosed as Autistic in August 2021, midway through pursuing their Master’s at New York University. After a long journey of adjusting to city life, a new diagnosis, and struggling to find community, they founded Autistic Adults NYC. A dedicated community builder, organizer, speaker, and consultant, Sy’Aire is committed to advocating for a more inclusive, equitable NYC for Autistics. Since starting the organization, they have continued to enjoy facilitating events and compiling resources for the community, along with director duties. Their special interests include disability advocacy, music, and animals.
