LOCATION: Chelsea. Our classroom is on the ground level, and this is an accessible space.

DESCRIPTION:

In this workshop we will learn about the basics of weaving using cardboard, yarn, and scissors. We will set up a DIY loom in a process called warping, learn how to weave a simple tapestry, and then take the project off of the loom. Everyone should walk away with one piece of woven art, or at the very least with all of the skills to finish their piece on their own. The instructor will give advice on different weaving customizations, project ideas, and ways to continue learning at home.

Absolutely NO experience is required, and attendees are welcome to break outside the mold and do something different, experiment, and be creative! At the end of the event, attendees are encouraged (but not required) to submit what they created to our upcoming art exhibition.

This class is part of our Alternative Expression Program. For more info, click here.
