PAUSE: Tactile Art

P.A.U.S.E is a space for friendship and community that doesn’t revolve around speech!

These events are designed to be especially welcoming to Autistic adults with intellectual disabilities, those who are non- or minimally speaking, or those who have other disabilities that make typical social settings challenging.

LOCATION: Brooklyn Center for Independence of the Disabled - 25 Elm Pl, 5th floor, Brooklyn, NY 11201

The building is accessible. The space is on the 5th floor, through some glass doors. There are accessible all-gender bathrooms.

DESCRIPTION:

What is Tactile Art?

Tactile art is art you can touch and feel with your hands

During this event, we’ll be making textured collages by gluing or taping soft, bumpy, shiny, or colorful things onto canvas boards.

This might include paper, fabric, pompoms, and other materials.

There is no right or wrong way to do it. You can try different things and make it your own.

No need to bring anything but yourself, all materials will be provided!

Feel free to come by, experiment, meet some new people and have fun.
