LOCATION: Midtown. This is an accessible space.

DESCRIPTION:

Join us in an event for BIPOC Autistic adults! This event is for Autistic adults who identify as BIPOC: Black, Indigenous, and other People of Color.

We’ll be creating a Zine together! A zine is a small, sometimes handmade pamphlet/booklet. We’ll start with some introductions, do a bit of discussion, and then get into making the Zine!

Each member will be provided sheets of paper, and a variety of different art and scrapbooking supplies. Attendees will decorate/fill up their sheet(s) with things that follow the theme: BIPOC Childhood Experiences - What was it like growing up BIPOC and Autistic?

We will have supplies/crafts to use, but you’re encouraged to bring items that represent your culture: This could be photos, written materials (poetry, recipes, short stories), newspaper clippings, art, writing, pressed flowers, ticket stubs, printed out materials (a map, recipes, flags), or any other materials that could be glued on a piece of paper. This will be shared with attendees, and possibly digitized to put on our instagram/blog, so nothing too personal you wouldn’t want the group to see! You can keep your page completely anonymous and names do not need to be included.
