DESCRIPTION:
This 90-minute support group offers autistic men an opportunity to explore their lived experience of unemployment and underemployment through awareness, dialogue, and authentic human connection.
Together, participants will have an opportunity to explore how vocational exclusion impacts their emotional, psychological, relational, existential, environmental, and financial well-being while recognizing the broader social, economic, cultural, and systemic factors that contribute to these experiences.
Rather than viewing unemployment as a personal failure or deficit, this group approaches vocational challenges through a neurodiversity-affirming and Gestalt lens that honors each participant’s humanity, dignity, wisdom, resilience, and unique way of being in the world.
Through mutual support and present-moment awareness, participants will have an opportunity to reduce shame, deepen self-understanding, foster meaningful connection, and discover that they are not alone.
