DESCRIPTION:
This 90-minute support group offers autistic men an opportunity to explore their experiences of betrayal through awareness, dialogue, and authentic human connection.
Many autistic men have experienced betrayal in friendships, romantic relationships, families, workplaces, communities, and helping professions. Betrayal may involve rejection, abandonment, deception, exploitation, bullying, exclusion, ridicule, broken trust, boundary violations, or discovering that a relationship was not what it appeared to be.
Through a neurodiversity-affirming and Gestalt framework, participants will have an opportunity to explore the emotional, psychological, relational, existential, and environmental impact of betrayal while fostering self-compassion, community, and hope. Rather than focusing on blame or judgment, this group invites participants to deepen awareness of their experience, honor their humanity, and recognize that healing is possible.
