The second Plant ID Walk for October will be hosted at Highbridge Park!
We will be hosting 2 plant walks this month to accommodate as many people as possible. Please sign up for only one date (Oct 12th or Oct 26th).
This is an early fall plant walk. Please make sure to dress for the weather, and be prepared for any late season insects.
Designed and constructed between the 1860's and the 1960's, Highbridge Park, located and named after the oldest standing bridge in the 5 boroughs, is a narrow but long park in the Dykman neighborhood. It is home to both native and non native plants. Some of them include Red Oak, native Black Cherry, and both black berry and raspberry. In addition, many many animals can be found in the park. Some of which include Hawks, the Dusty Salamander, and Snakes.
