DESCRIPTION:

Join us for an introductory music theory and piano workshop, with the chance to compose your own short piece!

We’ll start with a crash course on basic music theory, piano, and notation. After that, attendees will get staff paper and time to work on composing, with space to ask questions/get guidance on compositions from Nicole. At the end, we’ll share what we’ve created. Attendees are welcome to perform their own pieces or have Nicole perform them.

The crash course is designed for complete beginners, but people of all experience levels are welcome to join, compose, and perform. We’ll have a few keyboards available for in-person participants. Online attendees can use a piano if they have one, but a piano app works perfectly fine.
